What happens' when there is not a tears

September 4 , 2007 VOL 1

TEARS was contacted yesterday by a young woman who had witnessed 2 dogs savagely attack a young cat. After running the dogs away, she found the kitty unable to move
with puncture wounds and lacerations all
over its body. TEARS director,
Terra Cotromano, without any resources
to call on, due to a financial crisis, carefully explained to the
young lady what to do in order to help the
cat and take it to the veterinarian’s office.
Several hours later, the young lady called
back again and said she just called the animal control officer and they would be there in a couple of hours.
What a tragedy! This poor kitty, lying there in pain and suffering all those hours. We still do know the fate of the animal.
This sounded to us as if the cat’s back was broken, a common outcome of a dog attack.

TEARS is not in a financial position at this time to continue doing rescues. We are struggling to maintain the 200 animals we have at TEARSTOWN.
Won’t you consider making a monthly donation part of your budget now. If you care about the animals that are out there suffering from injuries, please help us survive.

TEARS was contacted by a local police department at 6:05pm tonight. Someone had report 2 young dogs had been abandoned, at a resident and was chained. These dogs were unable to get food or water. The police department called TEARS because the animal control will not come onto personal property to remove the dogs. If the animals need help outside the hours of 9am and 5pm, there is almost always no help available from most humane societies. The office was asked to please get some food and water and give to the dogs until they could get someone out there, hopefully tomorrow. Many officers are compassionate enough to do this.
What happens to the animals when there is no TEARS? Many will receive no help.
