TEARS has fought long and hard to keep our head above water

August , 2007

Friends and associates of TEARS:
The time has come for us to bid a fond farewell...

TEARS has fought long and hard to keep our head above water after the Eagle fiasco and the raid on TEARStown by The Alabama Department of conservation.
Terra was found innocent of all charges brought against her by Eddie Cook, and our wildlife permit was reinstated.

The 3 surviving animals of the 17 seized were returned. However, all that brought a great deal of negative attention to us. All charges brought against Terra and TEARS were maliciously structured so that that they were made very public through the media. Clearly a maneuver designed to harm the organization.

Donations are non existent now, with us getting as little as $100 a week at times. Hardly enough to feed 200 + animals. Keep in mind TEARS is the only emergency animal rescue that goes out 24/7/365 to rescue. We go to all counties and we are very aggressive with our cruelty investigations. We have been answering calls by the dozens on horses that are starving every day. I drove over 250 miles last Friday just on horse cases. That resulted in one owner admitting he needed help and asked us if we could take his horse, she won't die. So yes, I am talking that mare to get her back in a healthy state.

Helping is what TEARS is all about. Helping people. Helping animals. Now TEARS needs help in the worst kind of way. If you know ANYBODY in a corporate situation that could make a sizable tax deductible donation to HELP us, please spread the word that we are in desperate need. TEARS wishes to thank all you that have supported us through the years. We undertook a large endeavor on behalf of the animals of Alabama. However financial support for this endeavor has grown much more slowly that the level of need for the care of the animals. Once again thank you all for your continued support. Please remember that while we can no longer perform rescues we still have in excess of 200 animals that require daily food and care. Without that continued care the only alternative is euthanasia which is just a politically correct word for having to kill the animals - the worst that could happen.
