Examples of Our Work
APOLLO On June 2, 2007, Apollo was found by the Woods family in Hayden after he wandered into their yard. They saw his injuries and that he had no collar for identification. They spent 8 hours making phone calls trying to get help for him. Once they were finally given the TEARS phone number, they called Terra at 3:45. Apollo was picked by Mallorie Thomas (TEARS' animal welfare investigator) and was at TEARS Town by 4:45 and on his way to the Emergency Clinic for care by 5:00.
The wound was opened to be cleaned and was full of maggots.
As you can see the ear was also badly wounded. This appears to be the results of a dog attach. Since he is not neutered we can only imagine he was running with a pack of dogs after a female.
Apollo, needs a sponsor. He will require a good bit of after care for the injuries, but will make a full recovery. If you would like to sponsor Apollo, please email TERRA@TEARSTOWN.NET or send your donation to assist with veterinary services. Please indicate your donation is for Apollo. Please have your pets neutered/spayed. These kind of injuries are preventable.
Here are some additional pictures of Apollo as well as his injuries:
