Examples of Our Work
SHADEL TEARS received a call from a truck driver at the Miller Steam Plant. He had been feeding and trying to catch a dog for several days and needed help. This dog had a steel trap on his foot. TEARS went to the site and assisted with the capture of this dog. As you can see he had already lost most of the foot. The trap was hung on the bones. The trap was removed and the driver accepted the responsibility of taking this dog to his vet in Moody. We have been notified that the dog's leg was saved and he is doing well now. Thank you Mr. Shadel for your kindness.
Now let's discuss the piece of trash that set the trap. These traps are the most cruel, inhumane torture equipment that man has ever made. They are meant to torture a creature to death. Many animals will chew their legs or feet off when trapped in these. Can you imagine dying in this manner, in gut wrenching pain, bleeding, starving. Nothing should have to endure such treatment. We treat the most dangerous criminals with more compassion. Why do we continue to allow these traps to be used? What is wrong with a society that does this and allows this to happen? Dr Albert Schweitzer said it well, "Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not find peace." |
