UPDATE - HORSE NEEDS EYE SURGERY

SLY- The abused horse rescued on Feb 21, 2008-    "Story of Sly"

The judge has heard the case and TEARS was awarded custody of Sly. The owner was also advised by the judge that if he should ever purchase another horse, (or other animal), TEARS would maintain the authority to enter the man's property to check on the status of said animal. When the Vet examined Sly's eye, he prescribed medication, hoping it would heal and not have to be removed. Apparently, the prior "owner" told TEARS that somehow Sly had gotten 'buckshot' in his eye! The man never even called a Vet to look at the injury, and due to the degree of infection, poor Sly has to have his eye removed. The Vet said he had lost the vision already, but removing his eye will eliminate further infections and alleviate the pain. The cost of the surgery has been estimated at $600.00 and has to be paid when service is rendered. TEARS does not have the funds to pay for Sly's surgery as they are barely making ends meet now. He is being kept as comfortable as possible with bute and more antibiotics, but really needs the surgery soon. If you can donate something to help this deserving horse, please use pay pal on our website at www.tearstown.org  or if you use snail mail the address is:
